Lost Thoughts: The ultimate theory

The ultimate LOST theory:

You had a caretaker on the island (may have been Adam or Job or someone we've never heard of) and you had the smoke monster(aka the Devil/evil) on the island. Esau forgives Jacob... they become friends again as in the bible and arrive on the island. The smoke monster tricks Esau into going down the dark path and killing the caretaker, he does.

So we get skeleton #1 with the white stone... Jacob becomes the new caretaker and has to kill his brother Esau to keep the evil on the island... so we get skeleton #2 with the black stone.

Now the smoke monster/devil is taking Esau's form... notice Jacob never calls him Esau because he is no longer his brother. If the balance of good vs evil should ever tip to evil the smoke monster would be unleashed on the world.

So what's the deal with the flashsideways/alternate timeline. Well this is a world where the evil escaped the island. Things are about to get very, very bad.

Lost Thoughts: The Smoke Monster

"Please to meet you can you guess my name?"

As Lost speeds to a conclusion, the biggest question is just who is the Smoke Monster?

Well here are my best guesses:

1. Esau - The most obvious guess. Esau was betrayed by his brother Jacob and his mom in the Bible and vowed revenge. He was cheated out of his birthright (the island?). But how can he turn into a pillar of smoke or turn into dead people?

2. The Plague of the first born - Moses set many plagues against Egypt to free Jacob's people. The last was a plague to kill all the first born children. It would explain all the pregnancy issues on the island and why he can't kill Jacob (he wasn't a first born)

3. He really is the devil - He is always tempting people just like he did to Job. He is a manipulator. But how do you explain his mom issues or him saying he was once human. Maybe he is drawing from Locke's memories? Locke's mom was crazy.

In the Stephen King novels there is a recurring character that goes by many names (like Flagg in the Stand) but mostly goes by the Man in Black. He is the devil incarnate. The Lost writers are big Stephen King fans. Just saying.

4. He's some type of greek god like Hades or Cerebus. There's lots of Egyptian symbols on the island.

These are all off the top of my head. I'll think about it some more and maybe have a better answer next week.

Up

I finally got around to seeing Up. Its not the best pixar movie but its pretty darn good. Here's how I would rank it:

Masterpieces
Wall-E
Ratatouille
Up

Amazing
Finding Nemo
Monsters Inc
Toy Story 2
Toy Story

Great
Incredibles
Cars
Bug's Life

Sisko is Greater: I, Borg

Welcome to Sisko is Greater... a series where we put on our geek glasses and see what would have happened if Sisko was the Captain of the Enterprise instead of Picard.

This week's episode: I, Borg

Sisko would have implanted Hugh with the paradoxical mathematical construct.

Result: Sisko > Picard

Question of the Day 03/18/2010

The remake of Karate Kid comes out this summer...

Do you think 30 years from now they'll be making a remake of the remake of Karate Kid?

Dead I Am Not

Between moving, putting my house up for sell, a newborn niece in the hospital, LOST, massive snowstorms and the usual stuff, updating the blog has been the last thing on my mind.

I stumbled across a really cool site that I just had to share though.

http://www.kickstarter.com/
Its a website designed to help creative entrepreneurs (like me) to raise funds for their projects. I know I've said a lot about brothers gotta blog and stuff but side projects are afoot and you'll be hearing a lot more about them in the coming months.
